Recap of Jefferson City and Concord Hills meets
Dear Team,
It has been couple weeks since our last update and a lot has happened. First I would like to thank everyone who participated in the meet at Jefferson City. While we did have about an hour delay before the meet started, it was a great meet and we pulled off a close victory by 2 points. As the coaching staff has mentioned before every meet this year, we are undersized regarding our number of participants and every swim/ swimmer is important due to this simple fact. I commend the swimmers for accepting this obstacle and doing everything in their ability to overcome this hurdle. Another hinderance that we have been working through is the pool situation. I would like to personally thank everyone who has helped out over the course of the spring and summer to get our pool ready for the month of July. As many of you witnessed last night the pool looks amazing but we are trying to figure out some last few issues and we will keep you updated as things change.A special thank you goes out to the Huffaker and Manrod families for everything that they do to make the summer swim experience the best for everyone involved. Please make sure to acknowledge their efforts when you see them. Finally last night was our first home meet of the season and third meet overall. Once again the children swam very well, and it is obvious that we are continuing to learn and strengthen as swimmers. While we may not be perfect with every aspect of our strokes I would like to remind everyone that this sport is not like any other and takes years of consistent practice in order to master. Again thank you to all the volunteers who helped to run the meet. GKAISA is a volunteer run organization and we would not be able to host or even exist without you amazing parents lending us your time and talents. Thank You. As we move forward with the second half of our season I would like to remind everyone of a few things. Please wear sunscreen. Swimming is hard and a sunburn just makes everything in life harder. Please be safe over our upcoming holiday week and I look forward to seeing everyone at the pool over the course of the next month. One month down, one month to go, Let’s Go Blue Sharks!!!
Sincerely,
Chris Franklin
