    Fundraisers and Fun-Filled Final Events this Season

    Good afternoon!  This is a long one but a good one :).  Please read through all of the information and help us make these last few days GREAT!  Thanks for all you have done this summer in participating, volunteering and supporting Gulf Park!

    NEW – FUNDRAISER FUN

    2.  FRIDAY, July 24th 6pm-9pm - Join us and SWIM or SLIDE for the SLIDE! Gulf Park Blue Sharks is hosting a fundraiser for Gulf Park Recreation Association to help raise money to purchase and install a water slide for 2021. We had a slide in the past and it was a great addition to our Friday fun days for swim team and test days for shark school. You can participate in many ways - participate in Lap-A-Thon, purchase wristbands ($5 each) to slide on a GIANT slip and slide during the event or simply donate to our fundraiser! If EVERY swimmer participates, and/or raises/donates $40 we will raise enough money for the slide, pre-season expenses AND be able to grow our scholarship fund for 2020.

    • The event will take place Friday, July 24th from 6-9pm. The Lap-a-Thon for 10 and under participants will take place from 6-7pm; 11-18 years old 7-8pm and Adults/Alumni 8-9pm. Please RSVP and/or sign up to help volunteer for the event by July 22nd.
    • Each group will get 60 minutes to swim as many laps as they can - breaks are fine. A max will be set of 33 laps (1650 yards = 1 mile) for 10 and under swimmers and 66 laps (3300 yards = 2 miles) for older swimmers.
    • All participants in the lap-a-thon get an ice cream treat once they have completed their swim.
    • During the entire time, as noted, we will also have a giant slip and slide available for $5 wristband as part of the fundraiser.
    • Funds raised, up to $2700 will go to Gulf Park to help with purchase and installation of a water slide for 2021 season.
