RSVP and Volunteers Needed Reminders..
Good morning – sorry again for the long-ness of the info but PLEASE read through so you don’t miss out on anything next week!
1.SWIM and/or SLIDE Fundraiser and Ice-Cream Party – TOMORROW - FRIDAY There’s still time! We are just a little over half way to our goal and need your help! Swim, fundraise and get a sweet treat! Make sure to

- Using that same link Sign up (add participant), donate to your favorite swimmer(s) or donate to the fundraiser in general TODAY. If every swimmer raises or donates $40 we would be GOLDEN 😊.
- Not swimming? Coach Izzy is going to join us in swimming- cheer her on, donate to her swim and support our gulf park community!
- Remember there will also be a GIANT slip n slide $5 wristbands – So come and slide and cheer on our swimmers!
- If you have already signed up - AWESOME - if you can also sign up to volunteer = we still need help counting laps, monitoring the slip in slide, etc..we would greatly appreciate it! PLEASE sign up to VOLUNTEER TODAY!

2. BY THIS SUNDAY: City meet merchandise AND parking passes MUST be pre-ordered by SUNDAY, July 18th. Just go to our website and click on the SHOP tab and order TODAY! The city meet shirts will have each swimmers name on the back for THURSDAY or FRIDAY and the parking passes are day passes – will need one for each day – if you think your swimmer has a good chance to go to finals/championship (top 18 in their event) PLEASE purchase for Saturday if you want one – if they end up not going Saturday, there will be opportunities for refund.
3.BY MONDAY, July 19th at NOON
- Log in and declare your intention (RSVP) to attend/not attend both: GETTYSVUE (next WEDNESDAY) and CITY MEET (July 29-31st)
- PLEASE also log in and VOLUNTEER for both of these meets
- For Gettysvue (as of now, have not received their specific volunteer requests yet) we still need one of each of the following: Second Shift: Clerk of Course, Clerk/Ready Bench and Stroke and Turn Judge (must be certified)
- For City – first a little explanation:
For many years Gulf Park has had the honor of running the clerk of course at city meet. This gives us many benefits including a tent location right next to the seating area, access to the pool deck for volunteers, and Gulf Park swimmers never miss a swim. In order for us to continue to do this job we need help! We need callers under the tent. This is simply calling kids’ names and putting them in chairs. Please consider volunteering for this important position, the meet cannot run without us. Also, this year we have an exciting new opportunity for a volunteer. The head of the clerk of course for many years has been Jim Hemsley. Jim no longer has any swimmers and has decided this will be his last year. We need 1 or 2 individuals who would be willing to shadow Jim this year and pick up this role next year. Jim is the overall coordinator for the clerk of course and many duties besides just calling kids’ names, shadowing Jim this year will give you the opportunity to learn how to do this vital job. One thing that is important is that you always see your kid swim and volunteering just makes that easier as you will simply step through the door to the pool deck! As Noted: (all volunteers will get a wristband allowing them on the pool deck and should be able to see their swimmer swim – as long as we have all positions filled) we still need the following volunteers:
- Full Meet: Head of Clerk of Course Shadow – 1-2 volunteers
- Thursday
July 29th (10&Under) =
- 8 Clerk of Course workers
- 1 Relay Table (remember just click on the italics i for a description of jobs)
- Friday July 30th (11&up) = 10 Clerk of Course workers
- Saturday
July 31st (Championship – top 18 for each event) =
- 6 clerk of course and
- 1 relay worker.
4. BY TUESDAY, July 20th – RSVP for the Dive In Awards Party – Please log in and rsvp, pay your $5 per person for the awards dive in on SATURDAY, July 31st 6:30-9:30p at Gulf Park. We need head counts for food orders.
5. By Friday, July 23rd - PICTURES NEEDED/DUE for slide show. Every year we love ending our Dive in awards party with a SLIDESHOW - we need your help. Upload your photos to the drive linked here https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1y7xscF3iz7...BY JULY 23rdso they can be included (will try to include some city too if possible but all others MUST be uploaded by July 23rd)! If possible, label your photos beginning with your last name and put in folder of event they are from.
