Hello Swim Team Families!

Our first practice is quickly approaching and the coaches are gearing up for a fun summer.

We have LOTS of information in this email, so be sure to read through it all!!

What to expect on the first week of practice:

The coaches will gather the swimmers in each age group and break them out into groups based on their age and years on the swim team etc. They will make introductions and play get-to-know-you games with the swimmers (especially for those swimmers who are new to the team). Several of the younger swimmers may start in the shallow end of the pool during the first week as they build up stamina and comfort in the pool. The coaches ask that ALL SWIMMERS have their name and age written on their shoulder during the first week of practice. We will have plenty of Sharpies available!

***We will have several volunteers at the pool to accept swim team payments via check/Venmo/Paypal.

New Swimmer Parent Meeting:

We will have a parent meeting for our new swimmers during warm-ups for our Blue & White Meet on June 4th. If you need us before then, we will be at most practices during the first week! 

What to bring to practice:

• Practice suit
• Goggles
• Towel
• Water bottle

Full Summer Practice Schedule: (May 28 - July 13)

Evening Practices- Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday

8 & Under Age Group- 6:45-7:30 PM

9-12 year Age Group- 7:30-8:15 PM

13+ Age Group- 8-9 PM

Morning Practices- Monday-Wednesday- Friday

8 & Under Age Group- 8:45-9:30 AM

9-12 year Age Group- 9:30-10:15 AM

13+ Age Group- 10-11 AM

*No Friday evening practices.

Smoky Mountain Invitational (SMI):

We will be opening SMI registration ASAP! Please declare whether or not your swimmer is attending! https://gulfpark.swimtopia.com/swim_meets We need to have a final number by June 7th. 11&up will swim Saturday, June 29, and 10&under will swim Sunday, June 30.

Aubrey's Pancake Breakfast:

Make plans to attend our big fundraiser at Aubrey's on June 22nd, 8-10am. Your swim team registration already includes 5 tickets, but additional tickets are available for $5/person. This is a chance to invite grandparents, aunts, uncles, babysitters, neighbors, and anyone in the community! More info will come out soon regarding volunteer shifts!

IMPORTANT POLL Regarding Dive-In Award Party: 

We are polling everyone to see what date works best for our Dive-In Awards Party. Traditionally, our season ends with City Meet Finals Day (which would be Saturday, July 13) followed by our Party that same evening. Alot goes into the party and we'd love to have a little more time to plan and execute (Sunday, July 14, or Saturday, July 20). Work Days:

We have a few more work days lined up to finish getting the pool/property ready for the summer! Many of the kids love to play tennis and sand volleyball at the pool, so we're dedicating 2 weekends to get those back in shape! We'd love to have some swim team families join us to help out with these projects! Details below:

1. Rehab the volleyball court. WORK DAY THIS FRIDAY (5/25) 9-11AM+ and THIS SATURDAY (5/25) 9-11 AM+
2. Rehab/Refresh the tennis court.  WORK DAY THIS FRIDAY (5/25) 9-11 AM+ and THIS SATURDAY (5/25) 9-11 AM+
3. Paint the building exteriors. WORK DAY NEXT FRIDAY (5/31) 9-11 AM and NEXT SATURDAY (6/1) 9-11 AM+

Wednesday Night Dinners:

We are really excited to implement Wednesday Night Dinners during the month of June! We are looking for a few volunteers to coordinate and set-up a meal for those busy Wednesday nights at the pool.
