Week 6 Recap
This week at Gulf Park…
Gulf Park Families,
Great win against Sevier Aquatic Club! It was a team effort to earn this win. We had 98 improved times, but the highlight was Ruie Wormsley breaking the team record in the 8 and Under 25 Butterfly. Congrats Ruie! It has also been a hot week at the pool! Reminder to be sending your kid to practice with a water bottle. As the air temperature climbs and the pool temperature climbs with it, it is important to be properly hydrated at practice. We are entering into our championship season with Smoky and City fast approaching. Our emphasis at practice is going to be on the details of how we swim, making sure we are swimming fast and smart. Busy week coming up! Let’s keep the fun going!

Looking Ahead…
Monday
- Normal morning and evening practice
Tuesday
- RSVPs for Thursday’s meet against USC due! If your swimmer has any event preferences, feel free to add them in the comments when RSVPing.
- Team picture day! See email from Jennifer for more details.
- After our team picture, we will be playing games instead of practice!
Wednesday
- Normal morning and evening practice
Thursday
- USC meet at home
- The theme is Beach Tourist and it is Senior Night!
Friday
- We will still have doughnuts and present star swimmers, but because we had our fun practice on Tuesday, we will be having regular practice. The focus is going to be on polishing details for Smoky.
- If your swimmer is going to Smoky, we highly recommend they come to this practice so we can talk through how the meet works and practice their specific events.
Saturday/Sunday
- Smoky Mountain Invitational! Once we get more details, we will send them out, but we can’t wait for our first championship meet.
- Because of the way this meet runs, it is imperative that you let the coaches know ASAP if your swimmer isn’t able to swim. There are lots of relays we will have to switch around, and there are time-based deadlines for when the Smoky meet organizers need to know that information.
