Dual Meet Recap
Dual Meet Season Recap-
Hello to all our Blue Sharks out there. We have so far had a great summer full of fun swims, life lessons, and of course ring pops. I want to congratulate all of the swimmers for their hard work and improvements. To quickly recap the final scores of our dual meet season:
Gulf Park vs Peninsula Club- W 351- 341
Gulf Park @ Green Meadow- L 300- 420
Gulf Park @ Knoxville Racquet Club- L 296- 432
Gulf Park vs Village Green- L 288- 412
Gulf Park vs Concord Hills- W 374- 341
While there were a few weeks where it seemed like the season was coming at us one hundred miles per hour, I believe that the children did a great job staying in the moment and accepting whatever challenges (and there were a few) were in our way. I would like to also take a second and recognize our 8 & under and 9-10 year old kids on their vast improvements throughout the season. While we are usually known for having a stellar group of older kids, this year we have been making great progress with our kids rising from Shark School and also the 9-10 year olds. Please make sure to congratulate them and thank Marikate when you have a chance. Their hard work is the lifeblood of this team. While we are now moving on from our dual meet portion of the season to our championship part it is important to remember the things that have gotten us to where we are now. Consistent work (even when it is early in the morning), fun games, skills work, and healthy, happy kids are what I look forward to every day and they are what makes summer swimming a joy for all involved. Over the next few weeks we will be cleaning up our racing techniques and working on the small things that will make the difference at City Meet. I encourage everyone to try to make it to as many practices as possible and to remember we only have a little time left then summer is gone and back to school. Again thank you parents for your selfless giving of time and talents. Without you and your hard work none of this would be possible and so on behalf of the entire coaching staff thanks to all of you. I will be sending out and email later this evening highlighting the results of the Smokey Mountain Invitational. Thank you again!
